Can I bring my own storage unit lock?
We use the highest security Cylinder locks on all our units. If you have your own cylinder lock, you can use it on your locker. If you need to purchase one, we always have them in stock.
How secure are my belongings in storage?
At Access Mini Storage, we offer several premium self-storage security and safety features. Our facilities are equipped with alarm systems, electronic gate access with personalized access code and 24-hour video surveillance.
When can I access my storage unit?
Your access is unlimited during gate access hours, which are generally from 6AM – 10PM every day. As long as you have your passcode handy and your unit key, you can come and go as often as you like, including holidays.
Can I find your prices online?
We don’t post our prices directly online. There are many factors that go into determining the rental rate for a unit: for example, we consider location, accessibility, unit height, climate control, and many other factors. Chances are we have a space that will suit your needs, at the price you’re looking for. Please give us a call and speak with one of our storage experts to ensure that you get the best value for your dollar, and no surprises.
What is “climate control” and do I need it?
Climate control can help protect your items from damage such as warping, cracking, or even mildew. Our climate controlled units are maintained to prevent temperature extremes.This is accomplished through controlled heating in the winter, and air circulation/ventilation in the summer. Temperatures and air flow are preserved at an optimal level for storage, but not necessarily at room temperature. Maintaining temperature controls outside of this range is both unnecessary, and costly; we prefer to pass these savings on to you!
Reserving
Do I need a credit card to reserve a storage unit?
You can reserve a storage unit online, in person, or by telephone, with just your first and last name, and a contact phone number. We do require a valid Visa or M/C as part of the Customer application form when you sign your lease.
The office at the rental location is closed but I need to speak to someone, what can I do?
If you cannot reach a property manager at any of our locations you can leave a voicemail at our office and we’ll return your call as soon as we can the next business day. We can be reached at (604) 824-0030 during the following times:
Mon – Sat: 9:00am – 5:30pm PST
Please note that any billing inquiries relating to your account must be made directly with the property office during standard business hours.
Renting
Can I share access to my storage unit with someone else?
Yes, anyone you’d like to authorize to access your storage unit can be specified on your lease, whether it’s a family member, friend or an employee. Just ensure that such individuals have your unit’s current access code, and a key to the lock. Access Mini Storage will not provide access codes or open locks for anyone.
How long does it take to complete the rental process?
Usually it takes approximately 20 – 30 minutes to complete the entire process, which includes viewing the storage unit, and reviewing and completing the storage lease with a customer service representative. This is important to keep in mind when you’re using movers to bring your items to the storage unit, since they will often charge by the hour. We recommend coming in beforehand to complete your rental.
What documents will I need in order to rent a storage unit?
To start renting, you will need two valid pieces of government-issued ID, one of which must include a photo, e.g. driver’s license. We also require a valid Visa or Mastercard as part of the application process. For more information about acceptable forms of ID, please contact the rental office at your Access Mini Storage location.
How do I cancel my lease agreement?
You can vacate your storage unit anytime you choose. We ask that you provide us with 2 days’ notice at the location where you rent. You can do this by simply informing one of the property managers. There is no additional paperwork you’ll need to fill out. Once you’ve removed all your items from storage, please remember to take your lock with you, so that we know you are no longer using the storage unit.

Can I still visit my storage unit on statutory holidays?
Yes. Even when the rental office is closed, you will be able to visit your storage 365 days a year during standard gate access hours.
Will I be able to access my storage unit when the rental office is closed?
Absolutely! Access Mini Storage access hours are every day from 6:00am – 10:00pm. Just remember to bring your access code so that you can enter the facility.

Packing Supplies
Do you sell moving boxes?
Yes we do. We sell a variety of sizes of moving boxes, ranging from cube boxes to custom TV and wardrobe boxes. We also sell tape, bubble wrap, moving blankets and much more.
